Two Year Photos

Last weekend we had some family photos and Autumn's two year photos taken by PlayOnLight Photography. We are so happy with how they turned out! Adrienne was super patient with Autumn (and us!) and got some amazing shots. I can't wait to get them printed and hung up on our gallery wall (because everyone needs a wall all about them in their own home, right? ::eye roll::)!

A few weeks back we went to this car show/community party (not where we live) and it was such an awesome location! I totally nerd out with cool buildings so this spot was right up my alley. It's an Antoine Predock building which in itself is pretty cool. The surroundings are equally gorgeous with lots of concrete forms, the greenest grass and beautiful vegetation. So when we were there, I knew this was the spot where I wanted our family photos. It did not disappoint! Adrienne did a wonderful job of capturing the modern aspects of the location and it's uniqueness while still having us feel natural. Well as natural as Ernest and I get, we're hopeless models! Haha. I was making fun of his blue steel Zoolander face last night, lol. JK

Autumn was pretty good for the pictures. Other than not wanting us to hold her, sit still or stay where we wanted her! In other words, she is a busy, curious little two year old. But we just let her be herself and explore and sing and dance like the little sweetheart she is.

I could literally put all 69 images up but I'll spare you. Here are some of my favorites, still probably too many so keep scrolling...

I love how Autumn is looking at herself in the window here!

I just love them all!! And especially my little family!!

I've come to accept that 1. blogging is a low priority right now 2. most weekend catch-ups won't happen until Thursday and 3. I'm glad it's Thursday :)
It was another super awesome fall weekend! We started off Friday afternoon with my work spooky carnival party. For some insane reason I agreed to help with the party decor. It was definitely a last minute scramble to get everything together, especially because the party was still during work hours.

I scrambled home to get Autumn and quickly drew myself a cat nose and whiskers. Autumn couldn't stop looking at me, she kept saying 'Mama bow-tique? (my ears), Mama kitty, meow'! LOL.
I swear she was happy to be there! She just refused to smile at this moment, haha
I love Autumn's costume! A friend of the family handed it down to Autumn and it's adorable. I made her the floral crown and love the way it turned out. A trip to Hobby Lobby, a glue gun and lots of floral tape, bam it was done! Ok, not that easy. It was kind of a pain in the ass but I'm happy with the end result. She runs around saying 'Auuummm pincessss!'. Everything turned out great! The kids had such a great time, the adults did too and Autumn made some new friends.
The next day we had a birthday party for a friends little girl who turned one. We have had some amazing (still too hot for me, but nice) weather lately and Saturday did not disappoint. The party was outside and it was perfect! The theme was pink and gold princess party complete with crown shaped sandwiches and crown shaped pasta! Holly really outdid herself! The kids played on a swing-set, ran around with balloons and decorated crowns and wands. We all had such a great time at the party!

Sunday we had breakfast with the fam then went in search for black yarn! I bought all of it out at the store by our house so I had to drive way across town to the other store and bought them out too! That's a very good problem to have because I've been super busy with my Etsy shop and tons of Halloween orders! So thankful for that!! Anyhow, after the yarn search was done, we headed to my parents to bake some cookies. It makes me so happy that Autumn loves to bake as much as I do! We still need to frost the cookies tonight because my mom didn't have red to make orange frosting, haha!
Someone turned on the blender and got hit with some powdered sugar!

In other news, I've been busy making new holiday stuff for the shop. AND...I just got a Silhouette Cameo that I am beyond excited to use!!! I have a million and one ideas and not nearly enough time to execute them, so I'll just have to pick the very best :) I tried out a holiday sign last night and am love with how it turned out. Stay tuned! Lots of exciting stuff for my shop!
We also got a preview of Autumn's 2 year photos. This one was taken at the very end when we were getting ready to leave. I  lost my brand new chapstick so I was looking around for it while Autumn was playing in these flowers. Our smart little photog had her camera ready to catch this beauty. We got the rest of the pictures last night and will be sharing them soon.
Oh ya, and it's Halloween on Friday! We're still not sure if we'll take Autumn trick-or-treating. She is still a bit young to get it so we may just hit-up the fams houses for candy, hehe :) How different Halloweens with kids are! No crazy outfits, raging parties or wicked hangovers, haha!

Happy Thursday!

Mid Week Catchup

I started this post Monday and now it's Wednesday. Also, I spilled my entire travel mug full of coffee into my purse this morning. That should give you a good indicator on how things are going. This weekend was entirely too short. I could use a day of just sleeping, a day of catching up on house stuff, a day catching up on Etsy orders and another day spent with Ernest and Autumn. Oh, a girl can dream, sigh...
I had big plans for us Friday night but they were all shot down when I got home and Autumn had a high temp and was not feeling well. So instead we watched 'Memo' on the couch and way too many episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Poor baby wanted nothing but cuddles...and Mickey. Thankfully Saturday morning she woke up still a little warm but feeling much better! We think it was from the shots/vaccines she received last week. As much as I hate her to be sick, I wasn't mad about all the cuddles :)
Saturday I had to work a wedding so I was gone most of the day and night. The wedding was beautiful but oh so exhausting!
Sunday we all slept in and I was super excited to see my little fam. We lazied around for a while then hit the ground running to get errands done before our family photos. Autumn fell asleep in the car which is always bad because she won't fall back asleep when we get home :( So it was no naps for her. Luckily Ernest was able to get her down but she only slept for an hour then it was time to get ready and go.
Trying to teach Autumn basketball, lol
For our pictures, Autumn was as good as you can expect a curious little toddler to be. She did not want to be held or stand/sit still. At all. So we just went with it, did a lot of running, skipping and playing with rocks. There may be lots of pictures of just Ernest and I and a flash of an adorable little toddler running by! Haha. But seriously, we had a great time. She always hams it up for everyone else and was in full form that day. Our photographer is awesome too, she has little one's and knew we had to keep moving to keep Autumn happy. I'm excited to see how they came out and will be sharing them once they do (if all went well, eeeek!).
Sunday night we had friends over for dinner and to watch the game. Autumn was less than thrilled about this because it was during her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse watching time, lol. That kid! Then it was full meltdown mode but she managed to pull it together to give everyone kisses and hugs goodnight, lol. She is VERY adamant about giving hugs and kisses. The other night Ernest put her to bed and she woke up shortly after because he 'forgot' (she didn't remember) to give her hugs and kisses. Little sweetheart.
Go get this book if you don't have it! It's my absolute fav!!
It was a short but full weekend and I'm looking forward to the next one already! Kidding, but seriously, can someone get me a nap? This week has been busy filling orders, I need to finish making Autumn's costume for my work Halloween Carnival on Friday, and make some decorations and carve some pumpkins for Friday too! Can I please get an extra 4 hours in the day?! #firstworldproblems

The Day I was Attacked by a Tarantula

How is that for dramatic?! Well I will get to my tarantula story soon.

We started our much needed relaxing weekend by staying in Friday night and sleeping in Saturday morning. Once we got moving, I took Autumn to a bounce and boogie music class and she LOVED it! She was so cute dancing and shaking to the music, helping put the toys away (which never happens at home!) and being so friendly with everyone. I found this place via Groupon so we have a month of unlimited classes. We have a few others planned for her soon and I know she'll just love it. All day she kept saying 'I ring the bells at class'. So cute!
The rest of the day was boring errands stuff...grocery shopping, cleaning and the such. Yuck!
Sunday we went to breakfast at the fams house. We were supposed to hitup the pumpkin patch afterwards but Ernest got wrangled into chopping down trees and other manual labor by his Grandpa. After waiting what seemed like way too long, we decided to go without him. Which turned out great because his Mom, Grandma and two cousins joined Autumn and I. It was a full on girls trip to the pumpkin patch!
We took a hay ride to pick-out our pumpkins, saw the petting zoo (1 mean mini-pony, a donkey and the biggest horse I've ever seen) and did the corn maze.
The morning was super cold so I wore a sweater and boots, by noon it was 75 degrees and 75 mph winds. Bad combo. So keep that in mind as we're treking through the corn maze. Hot, sweaty mess. Cute. Anyhow, we had a lot of fun doing the maze and trying to find the different stations to punch our card.
We're walking along, lost of course (6 women, come on) and I look down and see a GIANT tarantula almost crawling up the foot of my boot! I screamed like a girl, jumped higher than I ever have and ran as fast as I could! Which of course freaked everyone else out and they started running and screaming. It took me a second to realize what just happened and tell everyone else. We all screamed again. If you know me, you know I absolutely detest bugs but especially spiders. Like Hate with a capital H. So seeing that huge ass tarantula was traumatizing to say the least...but pretty hilarious afterwards! We all got a good laugh :) We snapped a few pics of the creepy crawly. Biggest spider I've ever seen! We were all so paranoid of more spiders that we found our way out of that maze pretty quickly!
Warning: Appears larger in person and terrified of spiders!
Autumn going down the giant pipe slide with her cousin. She hated it.
Tarantula aside, we had a great weekend and so much fun at the pumpkin patch with the girls!

I couldn't leave out these cuties in their 49er gear! Autumn got this little jersey when we were still in the hospital! I tried it on her and it just barely fit, haha. Dad did not approve of those short shorts! She was running around and playing football with Ernest all night!
They brought good luck to the 49ers because they won Monday night, woot woot!

Happy almost Friday, thank goodness!
